New this morning, police in newport news say a driver died following a car crash. It happened in the Early Morning hours at 41st street and jefferson avenue. Police say the driver was not wearing a seatbelt when he crashed into a utility pole. Paramedics took the man to the hopsital where he was pronounced dead. Investigators do not know if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash. Were working to learn the mans name.
