대전의 로컬 복합문화공간 제로사이 가 최근 철거된 대전 동구 대동에 위치한 동부탕 아카이브 전시를 시작으로 오픈했다.
대전 지역 번호 042 에서 얻은 아이디어로 이름 지어진 제로사이 는 문화 예술 콘텐츠로 서로의 사이 를 좁히겠다는 가치를 목적 삼아 탄생한 공간이다. 새로운 공간에서 사라진 공간을 기억하고 재현한다.
약 60여 년의 역사가 있는 동부탕 (대전광역시 동구 백룡로48번길 70)은 노후화된 건물로 인해 2019년을 끝으로 운영을 중단한 동네 목욕탕이다. 지역 차원에서 건물 활용과 관련하여 고민이 있었지만 결국 2021년 봄과 여름 사이 대동 주민과 완전히 작별했다.
도시재생 뉴딜 사업의 일환으로 철거된 동부탕 건물에 대한 주민들의 아쉬움은 철거 전부터 마을 곳곳을 돌아다녔다. 평균 거주기간 20년이 넘� ....
