We have lots of lightening behind us, there are outer feeder bands that will make their way into the coast line of the miami-dade county. you talk about the track of the storm and we hinge on that westerly shift. this has has some ramifications for places like naples into tampa. it looks like that would have a direct hit with the eye wall which is where you would see the strongest winds from a storm. the other thing about this storm, as well, is with this westerly shift it has a little more time over those warm ocean waters in the florida strait, it allows it to reintense fi. i notice after it grazed the cuba coast, it almost lost some of its structure, kind of a sign with a interaction with the mountainous terrain. but the warm waters over the gulf of mexico and florida strait will allow the storm to ....
Running up the spine of florida, but more so to the western edge, in the vicinity of tampa and headed up toward halla hassy, then jacksonville and south georgia where we could see flooding rainfall. this has been fascinating to watch the arcs, in dade county already reports that the first round which we saw isa in, where she said she saw lots of lightening, about 10,000 people without power. we ll watch it as it exits cuba and goes into the very warm waters of the florida strait and moves to the florida keys. we ll talk about the wind as it moves to the florida peninsula, what can we expect. also what we can expect as far as the conditions in the next ....
Category 5 hurricane. with the winds at hurricane strength through key west florida, up through dade, braer county, sunday afternoon, but even before then, those bands and those heavy rain bands expected to move on shore, and then we go into sunday about 8:00 p.m., travels a little further to the north. expect there to be weakening but don t be fooled by that. if it slows down you ll get pump ld with more rainfall f-columbia georgia,a vana, make um, augusta georgia, atlanta, so many people with so much in the way of population that could be impacted as we go into monday, and we ve been talking about this storm now for a week. and isa, we ll have more than 20 ....
Since andrew. we re seeing the evacuation orders being obeyed by the residents. we saw the keys move about 31,000 people out. that s the good news. the bad news is there s about 80,000 that live in the keys. so there s still lot of people down there. but hoping that miami dade, at least from what we ve seen today are certainly obeying those evacuation orders and the other counties will hopefully follow suit. i appreciate you joining us here and giving good advice to all our viewers in florida and beyond. and racing for their lives. incredible story of the delta airlines pilot with a plane full of people desperate to escape the storms. ....
Million people the time for waiting is over and it s time to get out. let s get right to it with florida congresswoman, debbie wasserman schultz. what is your top concern at this hour and what are you learning from your discussions with authorities? well, one of my main concerns is the folks that have refused to leave despite mandatory evacuation orders. while we have seen quite a few people make their way to shelters, get out from the low lying areas and miami dade, as you said, is undertaking the largest evacuation in their history. there are people that are choosing to stay put. this is a very, very serious storm. we re used to preparing for storms. there s a lot of people that get cynical. not ride out and deal with a significant storm. ....
