Attempt to delay '£90-£130 million' Jersey Government HQ | Channel

The Infrastructure Minister presented his formal plans on 22 December with a 15-day notice period.
Now the Scrutiny Liaison Committee says that is not enough notice to properly look into the arrangement when so much information is still not in the public domain.
It wants the decision pushed back to June.
The decision making requires an independent review as the detail has not been assessed and the government has therefore not been held to account. Due to commercial sensitivities only certain information can be provided to the public and without scrutiny this provides no assurances that Government has been effective or accountable to its actions to the Public to which it serves. ....

Jersey s new government headquarters is set to cost around £90 million, ITV News can reveal.
The project, announced earlier this week, will see developers Dandara demolish the old public sector HQ at Cyril Le Marquand House and build a new one there.
Two other bidders, Le Masurier and the government-owned Jersey Development Company, also tendered for the work. The latter proposing to use a third building at the Finance Centre which already has planning permission for a headquarters. ....

Dandara to get 99-year lease of Cyril Le Marquand House land | Channel

Dandara will get a 99-year lease of the land where Cyril Le Marquand House currently sits, ITV News understands.
It has been revealed that the development company plans to build the government s new headquarters at the site at a cost of £90 million. Dandara will then lease the building to the government for the first three years, with the executive having the option of purchasing it afterwards.
Under the plans the rent cannot go up more than 5% every three years.
The announcement follows comments from Jersey s Chief Minister last November that he expected housing to be a perfect use for Cyril Le Marquand House. ....
