On December 3 and 4, under the influence of Cyclone 'Michaung,' Chennai and nearby areas in Chengelpet, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts received heavy to very heavy rainfall leading to heavy inundation and damage to properties and loss of lives.
Cyclone Michaung: IndiGo said the affected passengers will be offered a waiver on cancellation and rescheduling of flights. Air India also waived rescheduling charges for yesterday and today s flights.
As per the official notification, all educational institutions including schools and colleges, will remain closed on December 5 and the exams scheduled have also been postponed.
Cyclonic storm Michaung: The government has also reviewed the emergency measures and many residing in the vulnerable areas have been housed in relief camps.
