The White House today announced plans to expand aid for mortgage borrowers who have fallen behind on payments during the coronavirus pandemic.
Enhanced assistance will be provided to homeowners with government-backed mortgages who have been negatively impacted by the pandemic, with the aim cutting some monthly payments by roughly 25%, according to a White House fact sheet.
The move is designed to more closely align options for mortgages backed by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the USDA, and the Veterans’ Affairs Department with those offered for mortgages backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the White House said. Bipartisan lawmakers signal support for Biden cybersecurity picks


Key lawmakers on Monday expressed support for President Biden
Biden announced plans to nominate former National Security Agency Deputy Director Chris Inglis to fill the newly created role of national cyber director at the White House. He also named Jen Easterly as his pick to serve as director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
Both nominees will need to be approved by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee before heading to the full Senate for confirmation.
