ACM Recognizes Luminaries Whose Service Benefits All Who Participate in Computing

NEW YORK, June 9, 2021 ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery, today recognized five individuals with awards for their exemplary service to the computing field. Working in diverse areas, the 2020 award recipients were selected by their peers for longstanding efforts that have strengthened the community. This year’s ACM award recipients made important contributions in areas including computing curriculum; increasing the participation of women in computing; strengthening ACM’s presence in Europe; leading technology policy efforts; and bridging the fields of computer science, education, and global health.

Addison tagged for Kentucky Women in Education Leadership cohort

Jessica Addison, Director of Instruction for Christian County Public Schools, has been selected for the 2021 cohort of the Kentucky Women in Education Leadership.
According to a news release from CCPS Spokesperson John Rittenhouse, she joins a statewide class of 24 inductees, which is designed for women working in P-12 public education who wish to strengthen or advance their careers. Members are selected based on leadership criteria, diversified education experience, talent, and desire to ensure all students receive a world-class education.
In addition to this appointment, Addison serves as a member of the Kentucky Department of Education’s Curriculum Task Force.
