Exhibition is out of this world Enrico Sacchetti, who is based between the US and Italy was originally a fashion photographer. Now his images appear in major scientific and technology publications including New Scientist, Wired UK, Scientific American and the Smithsonian magazine. A selection of his work will feature at GSC’s Curious About Innovation festival later this month after his recent Dark Matter and Beyond the Invisible exhibitions in London, Dublin, Milan and Rome. “I’m working on a project to photograph high-energy physics research facilities around the world,” he says adding that he’s driven by his curiosity in what he describes as “cathedrals of knowledge”, research facilities in remote locations with some of the largest structures ever built searching for the smallest elements in our universe. ....

The event has evolved into an online festival due to the pandemic and has been designed to help people of all ages engage and be inspired by the latest research happening around Scotland and the UK. The lineup includes a behind-the-scenes tour of Edinburgh Zoo, a sustainable cocktail making session, a UK film premiere, an art exhibition and live talks. Curious About Our Planet will run from today until Saturday and will provide interactive workshops and activities to help understand climate change and the world around us. The festival will mark the first time that Glasgow Science Centre has produced a digital-only programme. Dr Stephen Breslin, CEO of the Glasgow Science Centre, said: We are really excited to bring this festival to people. The Curious About Our Planet festival is building on work that we have already been doing for years in our Curiosity Live, which is normally held in person at the centre. ....
