Ron is a native of michigan, a graduate of Central Michigan university, and has returned as a guest speaker as part of the schools hearst visiting professional series. Ron lives in york, pennsylvania and has been a Gettysburg Foundation guide since 2013. Without further introduction i would like to present to you ron kirkwood. [applause] mr. Kirkwood thank you. Im going to address that first, then we will go into other factors, like the two hospitals that were on this property, and we are going to talk about the spangle ....

I have always been interested in the people who lived here at the time of the civil war. A lot of people who read about the battle and understand the general story when you start reading deeper into it, you come across the names of the people who lived in the area. Many of you are probably familiar with tim smith because he has been in gettysburg for a number of years. He is a native to baltimore maryland, a battlefield guide here at the Military Park, and they historian at the adams county Historical Society. Very serious accident out there amongst flooding and whole other host of issues this morning, so were getting to all of that. Weather shouldnt be causing too much after problem, the big problem for us yesterday on the area roadways, of course we had all of the showers, and we had few areas of thunder as we move through the overnight house, but the good news that low now moving off the coast, with just few scattered rain showers here across the area this morning. Cloud cover is out there, as well. Shouldnt again cause too many problems on the area roads on this friday morning, of course, everyone trying to get going little early. Temperatures for us, in the 60s, actually race friend 58 degrees about an hour and a half or so ago, up to 60 in center city, looking at 60s down toward the shore point, dover, 59, 58 kicking off the morning in wilmington. With this morning now for augusta twenty eight mph. We see gusts around twenty five mph for Virginia Beach down towards dark and handsome pretty close to that as well so little breeze is youre out the door to look at these temperatures here we are in the morning with temperatures upper forties to low fifties keep in mind were typically around fifty three or fifty four for a hike today so were almost there and here it is just now five am as we take a look. Visibility is excellent the Windsor South southwest these are sustained winds of twenty two mph so it is breezy out there but its going to be a warm breeze today as we head through the afternoon the high close to sixty nine degrees.
