Havana, Feb 24 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Wednesday congratulated communications workers on their day, which marks the anniversary of the first official broadcast of Radio Rebelde from Sierra Maestra in 1958.
The Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) has experienced a rapid expansion of its services in recent years, with 6.6 million mobile phone users in 2020 and 4.4 million people with access to the Internet via mobile telephony.
The company deployed 816 mobile base stations with different technologies, reaching 85.61-percent coverage countrywide; 151 municipalities already have 4G coverage, while 59 percent of the country s municipalities have access to the 3G network, Cubadebate reported on its website. ....
