POKAGON TOWNSHIP, Mich. â Authorities responded to a crash involving a motorcycle in Pokagon Township this afternoon, according to the Cass County Sheriffâs Office.
Weâre told the crash happened near Crystal Springs Street on M-51.
The 47-year-old motorcyclist from Cassopolis was driving south on M-51 when he struck a phone utility box while exiting the roadway and crashed, the sheriffâs office says.
What caused the crash is not yet known.
Authorities say the motorcyclist was taken to Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph to be treated for injuries.

CASS COUNTY, MI - A mother and son were hospitalized after a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning, police said.
Deputies responded around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, April 11, to a single-vehicle crash on M-51 near Crystal Springs Street in Pokagon Township, southwest of Dowagiac.
An investigation found a 34-year-old Niles resident and her 9-year-old son were headed south on M-51 when the vehicle went off the road, into an embankment and overturned, according to a news release from Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke.
The boy was thrown from the vehicle and the woman had to be removed from the vehicle by first responders.
