Interim Budget: Over Rs 2 lakh crore allocated to home ministry

Budget 2024: The interim budget 2024-25 allocated Rs 202868.70 crore to the Ministry of Home Affairs, with the highest share of funds going to paramilitary forces like CRPF, BSF, and CISF. The budget also allocated Rs 37277.74 crore to Jammu and Kashmir, Rs 5958 crore to Ladakh, Rs 5866.37 crore to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Rs 5862.62 crore to Chandigarh, Rs 3269.00 crore to Puducherry, Rs 2648.97 crore to Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Dama and Diu, Rs 1490.10 crore to Lakshadweep, and Rs 1168.01 crore to Delhi.
