The last rites of a CRPF jawan from Chirang district, Assam, who was killed in a Maoist encounter in Chhattisgarh, were performed in his native village. The jawan was given a state funeral and his mortal remains were brought to the airport before being taken to his village. The CRPF, CISF, and Assam Police officers paid tribute to the jawan. The IG CRPF praised the bravery of the jawan and promised support to his family. BTR chief and Bodoland Territorial Council executive member condemned the incident and called for strong action against the Maoists.
The mortal remains of the CRPF jawan from Assam, who was killed in a Maoist encounter in Chhattisgarh, will be brought to Guwahati today. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma condemns the heinous act.
