The U.S. Department of the Interior has rechristened almost 650 summits, streams, and other landmarks to remove a derogatory term from all federal maps.
The Interior Department lists over 650 geographic features – including two in the Bighorn Basin – for new names to get one derogatory word off the map forever.
The University of Montana will host its third annual Elouise Cobell Day Celebration on Friday, Nov. 5, to recognize the work and legacy of the late Blackfeet activist, UM announced in a news release.
