A lights-out pitching performance from David Carey and Tyler Baranowski, mixed with an offensive barrage that came from just about everyone in the lineup propelled the Greenfield Post 81 Senior Legion baseball team to an impressive season-opening win on Sunday.
Post 81 scored a convincing 13-0 win over Sheffield in a game played at Lenox Memorial High School.
“All the kids on my team got knocked out in the first round of their high school playoffs so they’re taking that competitive nature into the Legion season,” Post 81 skipper Kevin Luippold said. “All the kids really want to be here and compete with each other.” ....
