The National Abolition Hall of Fame and Museum (NAHOF) in Peterboro is now in its second week offering free daily Black History Matters programs. The brief 28 programs will remain on the NAHOF website even after they conclude at the end of February. The programs explore key events in our national history and topics that are lesser known or whose implications are not usually understood. So far, this week’s programs have included a look at “The 13th Amendment and the Abolition of Slavery” Feb. 8. SUNY Morrisville Professor J. Thomas Hogle described the progress from the Crittenden Compromise to the ratification of the 13th Amendment (1860-1865).
