The San Diego Early Music Society is thrilled to present famed American soprano Amanda Forsythe and Italian ensemble Opera Prima led by Cristiano Contadin. They will explore the torments of passion in the music of Monteverdi, Rossi, Legrenzi, Cavalli, and others in an exciting San Diego debut. Opera Prima’s recording of John Dowland has been described as “wonderfully free and inventive, quirky and virtuosic… expressive throughout” (D. James Ross, Early Music Review, 2023). For her part, Forsythe is lauded as “one of the best Baroque sopranos on the scene today.
