Lancashire Constabulary: New preferred Chief Constable confirmed for 2021 by commissioner Clive Grunshaw


A NEW preferred candidate for Chief Constable has been chosen for Lancashire Constabulary.
Chris Rowley, who is currently Deputy Chief Constable at Humberside Police, was chosen after a process in which candidates were required to outline their vision for the force and how they will build on the work carried out since 2017 by out going Chief Constable Andy Rhodes.
Mr Rowley will take up his position in April 2021.
Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw said: It is an honour and a privilege as Police and Crime Commissioner to be able to appoint the Chief Constable and it is one of the biggest decisions I will make and I m delighted to select Chris Rowley as my preferred candidate. ....

£17million cash boost for Lancashire Police 'not enough'


REACTION: Clive Grunshaw says the money is welcome but the county is poorer off overall
THE county’s police force will receive £17million in funding over the next year as the Government looks to get an extra 20,000 officers on England’s streets.
The money is a cut of a newly announced £15.8billion pot of cash set aside for policing nationally, as the Government looks to get safer streets and cut crime.
However despite the seemingly positive news, Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw has slammed Westminster leaders - saying the county will remain worse off than it did ten years ago thanks to years of cuts. ....
