Emily Bollinger / WGLT More than 50,000 COVID-19 vaccines have been put in people’s arms in McLean County, while nearly 11% of the county’s residents have received both vaccine doses. The county’s rate of fully vaccinated still trails the state average of 12.3%, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). McLean County has started distributing COVID vaccines to people in the Phase 1B+ population that includes people under age 65 with various underlying health conditions. The McLean County Health Department (MCHD) is taking appointments for vaccinations at Grossinger Motors Arena in downtown Bloomington Wednesday through Saturday this week. The health department notes 16 and 17-year-olds must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and are only eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine.
