Portia Smith, decided to take her writing talents to children’s books. A true creative at heart and lover of the arts, Portia founded
Imagine Me, Creative Book Publishing in 2019 with a goal of uplifting African American children through picture books featuring them as main characters.

What inspired you to pen this motivational read?
Portia: I have always enjoyed writing and creating stories since I first learned to put words together into sentences. When I was a little girl, I wrote everything: poems, songs, raps, movies, stories. However, it wasn’t until 2015, when I suddenly lost my husband, that I desired to put my stories into books. I begin to write about my feel ....
