KASU News Arkansans may not be required to wear a mask, but the City of Jonesboro is encouraging its citizens to be mindful of others who choose to continue wearing one during the pandemic. Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced an end the statewide mask mandate during a press conference on Tuesday. However, he encouraged residents to continue to wear their mask and practice social distancing. Jonesboro Mayor Harold Copenhaver said in a news release on Wednesday that the city government will continue with its current public health guidelines established to curb the spread of the coronavirus. “To care for the health of City employees and be responsible to our community, we will continue to ask those doing business in City facilities to practice social distancing and wear masks when coming to City offices,” Copenhaver said in the statement. ....
