Familial DNA search results in alleged serial sex assailant arrest
A man from Chico was arrested as an alleged serial sex assailant after DOJ agents used a familial DNA search to identify and arrest him.

CHICO, Calif. - An alleged serial sex assailant was arrested Monday morning for multiple sexual assaults that happened in Chico and Red Bluff, Butte County District Attorney said.
Steven Craig Michael Haskins, 36-year-old from Chico, was arrested for suspected multiple sexual assaults that happened between 2014 and 2019.
A cross-match DNA ‘hit’ on a member of the suspect’s family resulted in the arrest of Haskins.
