Coronavirus - Justice Minister Helen McEntee says schools 'being kept under review' but no plans to keep them closed

JUSTICE Minister Helen McEntee has said schools are being kept under review - but there are no plans to keep them closed after January 11.
Primary and secondary schools were due to open after the Christmas break on January 6.

But Taoiseach Micheal Martin last night announced that they would remain closed for an extra three days due to the rise in Covid-19 cases in Ireland.
McEntee said the extended break will give everyone a chance to limit their contacts - and stressed that they are safe environments.
Speaking on RTE s Morning Ireland, she said: Given the sharp rise in numbers, we have a lot of people isolating, it gives them time to go through that period and everyone a chance to limit contacts. ....
