Number of Seniors Vaccinated Continues to Increase
COVID-19 coronavirus Update No. 277
Hillsborough County, Fla. (Feb. 17, 2021) – Hillsborough County’s successful Targeted Vaccine Area (TVA) initiative has played a crucial role in increasing the number of seniors who are receiving the COVID-19 coronavirus vaccine, Hillsborough County commissioners heard today.
The TVA initiative is organized by Hillsborough County Aging Services, the Hillsborough County Office of Emergency Management, and the Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County. TVAs make the vaccine available directly to large groups of pre-identified residents age 65 and older in places where they live and socialize. The program has vaccinated individuals at senior homes, independent living communities, churches, and other areas throughout the county.

COVID-19 coronavirus Update No. 270
Hillsborough County, Fla. (Feb. 1, 2021) – The public COVID-19 coronavirus testing site at the University of South Florida’s main campus in north Tampa has reopened.
Testing there was temporarily suspended in November as campus operations transitioned through the holidays. The site is located in the parking lot adjacent to the USF Health Therapy (MDT) building, 3515 E. Fletcher Ave., and is open three days a week.
In addition to drive-thru testing, the USF location can accommodate people who arrive on foot or by bicycle. Appointments are required and can be made by going to HCFLGov.net/COVIDTesting. To make an appointment by phone, call (888) 513-6321 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Coronavirus vaccination information for Hillsborough County

Hillsborough County has opened a coronavirus vaccination site at University Mall in Tampa.
People who are 65 years of age and older and frontline health care workers (as defined by the state) may request an appointment by calling (866) 200-3896, TTY: (833) 476-1029.
COVID-19 Coronavirus Update No. 266
Hillsborough County, Fla. (Jan. 21, 2021) – Hillsborough County, in partnership with the Florida Department of Health and Florida Division of Emergency Management, has begun offering COVID-19 coronavirus vaccinations for residents ages 65 and older at a single point of distribution.
The drive-thru vaccination site for seniors and frontline health care workers opened at University Mall, 2200 E. Fowler Ave. in Tampa, today. The vaccination site is expected to operate seven days a week based on vaccine supply.

COVID-19 coronavirus Update No. 250
Hillsborough County, Fla. (Dec. 22, 2020) – The holidays will impact schedules at COVID-19 coronavirus public testing locations in Hillsborough County.
All public testing sites will be
closed Dec. 24-27, and Jan. 1-3. For more information about getting tested at one of the public sites, as well as links to other testing options, go to HCFLGov.net/COVIDTesting.
Hillsborough County’s COVID-19 Coronavirus Testing and Information Line, (888) 513-6321, will remain open 24/7 during the holidays for general questions related to COVID-19, but will not be available to make testing appointments on Dec. 24-25, or Jan. 1.
