The Institute for Veterans and Military Families is recruiting San Diego-area veterans to apply for cybersecurity training through its Onward to Opportunity San Diego program.
The nonprofit institute based at Syracuse University in New York is partnering with the Bethesda, Md.-based SANS Institute to provide free training to applicants who meet their criteria.
The SANS Institute, founded in 1989 as a research and education organization, offers a three to four month accelerated training program at the SANS VetSuccess Immersion Academy to help transitioning veterans earn certification and get jobs in the cybersecurity industry.
Courses are scheduled to begin Aug. 21 at the Courtyard San Diego Sorrento Valley. Remaining courses will be conducted online. Graduation is slated for this December.
