The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit reported three new deaths and 26 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.(Vince Robinet/CBC) comments
COVID-19 outbreaks and case counts continue to decline in Windsor-Essex, bringing the region to its pre-lockdown state.
The health unit announced 26 newly diagnosed cases of the disease Wednesday and also announced the death of a worker in a long term care home.
Of those new cases, eight are close contacts of confirmed cases, six cases are outbreak related, two were community acquired and the remainder are under investigation.
Today’s New Cases
Cases increased from 12,393 on Tuesday February 9th to 12,419 on Wednesday February 10th and 297 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex.

The Health Unit says 6 cases are outbreak-related, 8 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 2 cases are community acquired, and 10 cases are still being investigated by the Health Unit’s nursing staff.
Resolved Cases
That’s an increase of 40 resolved cases today.
Deaths
The Health Unit announced three additional deaths from COVID-19 today bringing the local death toll to 348.
