Hillsboro EDC Wins Workforce Excellence Award
The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) announced last week the recipients of its 2021 Workforce Excellence Awards, with Hillsboro Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) being the recipient in the 15,000 and under population category.
The award winners are recognized at the annual TEDC mid-year conference, which will be held June 9-10 in Frisco.
The HEDC application was based on the 2020 Hill County Youth Career Fair held in March 2020 at Hill College.
HEDC, Hillsboro ISD, Heart of Texas Workforce Development Board (HOTWDB) and Hill College partnered to organize the event.
It was open to all high school juniors and seniors in the county, with over 600 students on the Hill College campus in Hillsboro just prior to the pandemic shutting down all schools. ....
