Repair work on US 180 Bridge to begin this week | Breckenridge American

The Texas Department of Transportation is warning drivers of upcoming repair work on the US 180 bridge across Hubbard Creek Reservoir, also known locally as the “Mile Long Bridge.” The department does not expect traffic delays as a result of the work. Repair work on the bridge will begin this week on the underside of the bridge, below traffic. According to a release from TxDOT, the repair work is expected to take approximately one month, weather permitting. TxDOT advises motorists to drive with caution and watch for crews and equipment entering and exiting the work area. ....

Aldridge captured in Oklahoma | Breckenridge American

The driver who led authorities on a high-speed chase through Stephens County has been captured. Stephens County Sheriff Kevin Roach confirmed Michael Jacob “Lucky” Aldridge was captured last week by the U.S. Marshals Service and was in the process of extradition Monday, Feb. 5 to Stephens County. Aldridge is wanted in Stephens County with felony warrants for aggravated assault against a public servant and evading arrest detention with a vehicle with previous convictions. ....

Search continues for fugitive in Wednesday's chase | Breckenridge American

One suspect was arrested and another is still on the run after a high-speed vehicle chase through Stephens County Wednesday, Jan. 3. Kari Haigler, 33, of Breckenridge, was arrested while a second suspect, identified as Michael “Lucky” Aldridge, remains on the run. Haigler was taken to the Stephens County Jail to be charged with evading arrest and detention Wednesday night. Stephens County Sheriff Kevin Roach said Haigler was found in a dumpster near a house on FM 207, with the help of a good Samaritan. ....
