Star Courier Wethersfield School Board candidate Paul Baker edged ahead of fellow write-in candidate Amber Patch-Troxell in late vote counting Wednesday, but it will be another 14 days before the winner is named. Henry County Clerk Barbara Link reported that after Wednesday s count, Baker held a slim margin of 191-187. Link said that a new Illinois law requires election officials to wait for 14 days for ballots postmarked by April 6 and sent by mail. In the Wethersfield race, she said there are still enough outstanding ballots to turn the tide in the race. She said there are about 20 of the mail ballots requested but not yet returned. ....
