Ex-cop accused of trying to kill 5 Michigan State Police troopers with booby-trapped house fit for trial

STANDISH, MI A former police officer accused of trying to kill five Michigan State Police troopers by booby trapping his Twining home has been found competent to stand trial.
Arenac County Chief District Judge Richard E. Vollbach Jr. ruled this month that 67-year-old Roger A. Broadstone is psychologically competent to participate in court proceedings.
The judge based his rulings on a report from staff at the Center for Forensic Psychiatry in Ypsilanti, where Broadstone had been sent for an evaluation. ....
