Saginaw man gets prison time for shooting stranger in botched 2019 robbery

SAGINAW, MI A Saginaw man is heading to prison for repeatedly shooting a stranger during a botched daytime robbery that occurred nearly two years ago.
Saginaw County Circuit Judge Manvel Trice III on Tuesday, May 11, sentenced 33-year-old Brandon S. Breckenridge to five to 15 years and a flat two years in prison.
Breckenridge is to serve the two terms consecutively to each other.
Trice gave Breckenridge credit for 649 days already served in jail, though those days are only applied to the two-year prison term. The judge also ordered Breckenridge to pay $258 in court costs and fines.

SAGINAW, MI A Saginaw teen charged with a life offense for his alleged role in the robbery and shooting of another man has had his case dismissed.
Elijah H. Williams, 18, appeared for a hearing before Saginaw County District Judge Terry L. Clark the morning of Wednesday, April 21. At the time, Williams was charged with single counts of armed robbery and felony firearm, the former being punishable by up to life in prison.
Saginaw County Assistant Prosecutor Melissa J. Hoover said two essential witnesses, in particular the victim, were not present for the hearing despite having been subpoenaed by the case’s lead detective. Defense attorney James F. Piazza moved to have the case dismissed.
