Mayor Hanwell updates Medina council on courthouse project

MEDINA, Ohio Mayor Dennis Hanwell provided City Council and the community with an update about the city’s courthouse project during Monday’s Finance Committee meeting (Jan. 25).
Hanwell had earlier spoken with Medina County Commissioner Bill Hutson, County Administrator Scott Miller and Medina Municipal Court Judge Gary Werner about the possibility of moving the municipal court into the 1969 building on the east side of Public Square.
“When I met with Judge Werner individually and asked if he would be willing to consider if the 1969 building could be renovated on the square moving the Municipal Court operation over there, there were three qualifications that he said would need to be met for him to agree to it,” Hanwell said. ....
