Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary stated that the government has not made a decision to introduce plastic notes. The government is continuously working to improve the durability and counterfeit resistance of Indian banknotes. According to the RBI Annual Report 2022-23, no cost has been incurred on the printing of plastic notes.
