they would be the people doing the work. and purpose. a life with purpose is what it s all about in terms of raising families, so on and so forth. i want to just ask you about the mood on capitol hill. you mentioned the panic among the democrats. i guess that s what we re watching. i think so. i always know what the democrat rhetoric is. that tells me what kind of job we re doing as republicans. what i mean by that is if democrats have to lie about what we re doing, then we re doing a good job because they don t have actual counter arguments. if they don t have to lie and make effective counter arguments that means we didn t do a good job explaining ourselves. i know our policies are good and messaging is zb when the democrats have to lie. they got up yesterday and said we passed the default on america act. it s 50% lies, 80% lies.
elites expressing disdain for his voters and the republicans who disagree with that, who believe that trump is behaving improperly, or at least that he is leading the party and unsustainable direction. politically the most they will do is remain silent. they will not offer meaningful counter argument, and as a result, they re the voices that republican voters trust. our only you know, the only voices that who they trust that they re hearing are those defending trump and so you get these poll numbers that show 80% of republicans, for example, and a marist poll last week said that this is a witch hunt or 80 75% said. they still want trump to be president. it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy, if the republican coalition here is no counter arguments, the overwhelming number of them rally behind trump and then the republican elected officials who are critical of trump used that consensus among the base as the justification for remaining silent. they have boxed themselves into the corner t

the argument, the counter arguments. one of the things for example to take some of the sting off this to me is what we ve experienced in recent years we ve had an explosion in the number of documents that are classified. there s overclassification. over classification. pat moynihan 15 years ago headed up a bipartisan commission to look at secrecy and what he found was there are 2 million people in the federal government who could slap classifications on documents, and there were 1 million people in private industry who had the capacity to put classifications on documents. and so naturally things just took off. and it made people inside the government increasingly complacent. and what you re seeing, i think, and find some of these documents in a garage for god s sakes is a sloppiness, a massive sloppiness on people who don t understand and actually this was quite sensitive. we should take this seriously. but they ve been engulfed by a lot of this other stuff where, you know, as ji
