Tuesday night, the Eureka city council passed a resolution calling for something to be done about nitrous oxide. Legally sold in smoke shops and known as "whip-its," the recreational use of the inhalant has increased in recent decades nationally.
The council voted three to one – with Councilmember Scott Bauer recused and Councilmember Renee Contreras-DeLoach dissenting – to approve a letter arguing that, if passed, Measure A will severely damage the financial viability of local legal cannabis cultivation.
