A pro-business Super PAC is shelling out $500,000 down the stretch to help re-elect six moderate or mainstream incumbent Democratic City Council members facing primary-election challenges.
His stunning expulsion came in 2020 after the Council substantiated charges that he had harassed a female employee, taken a kickback from another staffer and failed to pay a fine for previous misconduct.
The so-called Labor Strong coalition which is comprised of DC37, 32BJ, the New York State Nurses Association, the Communications Workers of America and the Hotel Trades Council has already decided to put some of that funding behind Council members Justin Brannan, Marjorie Velazquez, Kevin Riley, Lynn Schulman and Linda Lee.
Andy King, a Democrat, filed the papers Wednesday to run for the 12th Council District, which includes Co-op City, Baychester, Williamsbridge and Eastchester.
