Mayor lays foundation stone of Community Hall

JAMMU, Feb 1: Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta here today laid foundation stone of a Community Hall at Pacca Talab near Bahu Fort.
Kavinder Gupta, Ex-Deputy Chief Minister; Vikram Randhawa, Ex-MLC; Vinay Gupta, BJP District Jammu President; Sharda Kumari, JMC Councillor Ward 47; Neeraj Puri, BJP Gandhi Nagar Mandal President and Councillor Ward 54; Rajeev Charak, senior BJP leader along with Arun Gupta, Executive Engineer; Vijay Kumar, Assistant Executive Engineer and others were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said, the community hall was the long pending demands of the locals as they were facing hardship to perform functions in their locality as there is no sufficient space in the locality meant for such activities.
ACP Application – Airport Master Plan In the fall of 2020, the Town of Pincher Creek, MD of Pincher Creek and Municipality of Crowsnest Pass had representatives meet to discuss forming an Airport Authority and that each municipality would contribute $25,000 within the upcoming budget process to help advance this initiative. During the Town of Pincher Creek s budget deliberations, the subject of the funding for the development of the Airport Authority was discussed and their Council directed that their Administration research and apply for an ACP grant, rather than each municipality having to contribute the funds from their own budget s. The Town has agreed to be the managing partner for the grant although will need a motion of support for the project from each Council. Included in the motion will be that the Town of Pincher Creek will be the managing partner. 1214-01 Green Space Management Policy Administration has met with users groups that operate facilities in the Municipality and neighbouring groups that operate systems along our borders to obtain input on this new policy. Discussions have been held relative to best practices while installing green space area trails. All groups have mentioned the need for a governance document to assist them on a collective goal to ensure the vision and theme of the Municipality are met, while building new trail infrastructure or maintaining green spaces. Administration has consistently applied the best practice to this policy. However, Administration is requesting Council s input and/or recommendations. Administration is aware there will be a need to adjust this policy and resolve any kinks that may arise. At the Municipality of Kincardine Council meeting of January 6, 2021 Council appointed Dorne C. Fitzsimmons to the vacant position of Councillor Ward 3. The Office of Councillor Ward 3 for the Municipality of Kincardine was declared vacant in accordance with section 262(1) of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001.C.25 on November 16, 2020. This position was left vacant by the appointment of Randy Roppel to the position of Deputy Mayor after that seat was left vacant by the passing of Marie Wilson.
The process for filling this vacancy was conducted under the “Appoint an Eligible Elector to Fill a Vacancy Procedure” approved by Council on November 9, 2020. RCMP Quarterly Update – Corporal Amatto The RCMP detachment has committed to provide quarterly updates to Council providing statistical crime rate comparisons and other community based preventative programming information. Corporal Amatto provided council with a brief statistic update highlighting some of the different types and amount of crime the RCMP are seeing in the area. Amatto than moved on to update Council on the Habitual Offender Management Program. The HOM program was created as part of the RCMP “K” Division Crime Reductions Strategy in 2013. The program provides a framework for the RCMP, the Alberta Justice and Solicitor General Correctional Services Division and other key community partners to respond to those offenders who are responsible for committing a disproportionately high number of crimes in a community.
