Article content Mayor Don Scott said he rejected pursuing any buyouts of properties in flood zones because he felt the Alberta government should have lead that process. In the past, Scott said the province has led property buyouts in areas prone to disasters. In 2013, for instance, the province offered buyouts to 254 homes after massive flooding in High River, Calgary, Medicine Hat, Bragg Creek, Black Diamond and Turner Valley.
