Councillor Antóin Watters has welcomed the announced of the extension and part refurbishment of Bush Post Primary School in Dundalk.
The local Sinn Fein councillor said: As a member of the Board Of Management of Bush Post Primary it is brilliant news to see significant progress being made on this project.
The school is a massive asset to our area and I am looking forward to seeing the works starting.
Cllr Watters said staff, students, and the whole community were overjoyed to hear the announcement that construction of the extension and refurbishment will be going to tender shortly. ....

Burglaries in Dundalk soared by an alarming 167% last month

Burglaries in Dundalk soared by an alarming 167% last month compared to the same period last year, shocking new garda figures have revealed.
Gardai are investigating a spate of burglaries in the community as gangs targeted homes in the area.
There were an astonishing 16 burglaries this January alone, compared to just six in January 2020, which is a staggering increase of 167%, according to crime statistics for the Dundalk Garda District.
Inspector Liam Archibald described the significant increase as “stark” but insisted it was a small number of people carrying out the spate of burglaries in the Dundalk district. ....

Councillor Antóin Watter has called for bins to be placed along the Carlingford Omeath Greenway so walkers can dispose of dog foul.
The local Sinn Fein councillor said dog walkers are picking up their pet s waste but, as there are no bins along the picturesque greenway, some people are hanging the bags with their dog foul from bushes along the walkway.
Cllr Watters said it is “disgusting” and putting people off going to the beauty spot.
Cllr Watters, speaking at the Dundalk Municipal District monthly meeting last Tuesday, said: “I have had numerous complaints about people lifting dog foul and just hanging it on bushes along the greenway. ....
