BTS members Jin and Jungkook may, now, postpone their military service until 2022 and 2027, respectively, if they want to. The Ministry of National Defense of South Korea announced, on Tuesday, Dec. 22, that K-Pop artists and personalities who were recognized as Merit Awardees in the Field of Popular Culture and Arts are, also, eligible to request delays in their mandatory military service.
Reports have it that the policy is effective six months after the Ministry of National Defense of South Korea s public declaration. It can be recalled that the State Council of South Korea established this specific public policy a few days after the same military law was passed by the South Korean General Assembly on Dec. 1. ....

Entertainers recognized as Merit Awardees in Popular Culture & Arts will be able to delay their military service starting 6 months after today

Ministry of National Defense officially declared that individuals who have been recognized as
Merit Awardees in the Field of Popular Culture and Arts  will be included as those eligible to request delays in their mandatory military service draft. 
This policy will be put into effect approximately 6 months after the Ministry s public media declaration (~6 months after 12/22). Back on December 15, members of the
