What has it been like growing up in east oakland . In one word deprived. We knew there was breakfast, lunch and dinner but i wasnt privileged to that all the time. Not having a father around i always tried to believe the lie, which was i didnt care that he wasnt around. Was but really, the truth was i always heard that he knew about me but still chose not to be around. My mom was gone. My dad was in the pen. I moved around from family to family for a while. My dad came back home. I moved with him. The penitentiary affected my dad in a lot of ways so a lot of his anger would come out towards our household. And we watched my step mom get beat beat.
