Portland, Tualatin and Clark County ban all fireworks
After three days of record-breaking high temperates, Portland, Tualatin and Clark County have banned fireworks.
Portland Fire & Rescue issued an immediate fireworks ban on Tuesday, June 29. The fire bureau said this difficult decision was made due to the extremely hot and dry conditions, acknowledging the negative impact this will have on businesses selling fireworks ahead of the Fourth of July. Fire Chief Sara Boone, along with her command staff and Commissioner-in-charge, Jo Ann Hardesty, carefully examined the impact recent weather conditions have had on our city and concluded that a ban on fireworks is the right thing to do for the protection of our residents, the bureau said.
