Until 2012 St Andrews was just a part of the Blunsdon ward, which was one of the biggest in the borough, stretching from Swindon’s northern border with Wiltshire to the Ridgeway ward in the south. But because of the growth of the population in the past two decades, electoral authorities created a new ward, putting Blunsdon in with Highworth and making a one for the developments. That growth will be one of the issues affecting voters here. As more houses are built, there are concerns about how those residents will get about – traffic, parking, congestion – and how infrastructure is developed to cater for them. ....
