Grants have been paid to market businesses to help them through the pandemic as the council juggles bad debts and financial pressures, councillors heard.
Brighouse Civic Hall when it was still open A COUNCILLOR has urged Calderdale Council to open up its Customer First advice centre in his town. Centres have been closed to the public during the pandemic lockdowns but Coun Howard Blagbrough (Con, Brighouse) has asked a Cabinet member when the council will open up a Brighouse Customer First centre in the town again. The service was based in Brighouse Civic Hall, which has been closed as part of the council’s Future Council plan to make savings Cabinet says are necessary for the council to balance its budget. But Coun Blagbrough believes it is an important service and that it should be reinstated somewhere in the town.
