going to the marine corps marathon, not only to race but to watch it. many of those folks are going to be going on escalators like this. they re going to have to walk. hopefully those escalators won t be treacherous this time around. casualty units rushed to the mall on saturday afternoon and they were fearing the worst. i was originally called in as a collapse, something to do with the escalator. around 2:00 p.m. this afternoon, these escalators were crammed with passengers going to the rally for sanity and fear. suddenly this escalator stopped abruptly, sending a handful of passengers tumbling down to the level below. we got to the entrance between ninth and d southwest. we found there were injured people at the bottom of the escalator. it s pretty steep and long escalator. we did have some injuries. a couple were pretty serious and two serious injuries. reporter: four people were hospitalized. while the extent of their injuries is not clear, they are not life ....
