If any good can come from all times, I hope we never again take for granted the opportunity to say goodbye or come together to celebrate a life. Thankfully, when it comes to the latter, we can do it whenever we want. And when it comes to game-changing drummer and composer Tony Allen, who died last spring at age 79 from an abdominal aortic aneurysm, we can also console ourselves with the knowledge that he achieved a sort of immortality during his days with us. Posthumous Tony Allen Album Previewed With Cosmosis Featuring Skepta and Ben Okri Damon Albarn co-produced the track, which will appear on There Is No End, out in April Jon Blistein, provided by FacebookTwitterEmail Blue Note Records has announced a new posthumous album from late Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen, There Is No End. The album is set to arrive April 30th, which also marks the one-year anniversary of Allen’s death. The record announcement comes with the first single, “Cosmosis,” which was co-produced by Allen, Damon Albarn, and Remi Kabaka. The song came out of Allen’s sessions with Albarn and Skepta (who also features on the track) as they finished tracking their collaboration, “How Far?” which appeared on Gorillaz’s 2020 project,
