Tyran Gray has been found guilty of murder in the September 2022 shooting of Norman Sweeney II, 49, on Wyoming Avenue in Charleston. Sweeney was killed in front of his 9-year-old daughter.
Norman Sweeney II was shot and killed in front of his 9-year-old daughter on Sept. 9, 2022 on Charleston’s Wyoming Street. Law enforcement arrested Tyran Gray, 27, for the shooting. He was charged with first degree murder, wanton endangerment. His trial started April 19, 2024 in front of Kanawha County Circuit Judge Carrie Webster. Cortni Ann Stovall pleaded guilty in November 2023 to a lesser charge in return for her testimony. She testified on Friday, April 19, 2024.
