After seeing what has happened in Okinawa Prefecture, communities near U.S. military facilities on other parts of Japan are bracing for accelerating surges in novel coronavirus infections.
NAHA Okinawa Governor Denny Tamaki said he is considering asking the central government to declare pre-emergency measures to stem the latest surge in novel coronavirus infections in the prefecture.
NAHA Governor Denny Tamaki referred to 2022 as being a “milestone year” as Okinawa gears up to mark the 50th anniversary in May of the return of the prefecture’s sovereignty to Japan.
