A construction worker, identified as 21-year-old Romulo Antonio Barillas, was found dead on Friday, February 2, 2024, in a bushy area near 3rd Street North, Corozal. The Corozal Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) reported that Barillas' body, dressed in a black T-shirt, long jeans, a black rag tied around his head, and brown boots, was discovered lying on its left side, exhibiting severe chop wounds to the head, face, and neck.
