Pune: The Municipal Corporation of Pune in Maharashtra on Thursday issued an order making it mandatory for passengers arriving from Kerala to undergo Covid-19 RT-PCR test on arrival.
The order comes after the Maharashtra government added Kerala to the list of states from which incoming passengers will have to take an RT-PCR test before entering the state, in its efforts to step-up the vigil in its fight against COVID-19. The other states on the list are Gujarat, Goa, Delhi, Rajasthan.
Describing as "alarming" the rise in fresh COVID-19 cases in some districts of Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Monday warned of taking some "harsh decisions" and asked people to be prepared.
